E-Business & E-Commerce
Posted on January 6th, 2010 No commentsE-Commerce atau Electronic Commerce atau EC menjelaskan suatu proses dari penjualan, pembelian, transfer, melayani atau pertukaran produk, jasa atau informasi lewat jaringan komputer termasuk internet. E-Business atau Electronic Business mengarah kepada pengertian yang luas dari EC atau Electronic Commerce, tidak hanya membeli atau menjual barang dan jasa tetapi juga pelayanan konsumen, kolaborasi dengan partner business, memimpin E-Learning, dan memimpin transaksi elektronik didalam suatu organisasi. Namun ada juga yang memandang bahwa E-Business bukan hanya sekedar membeli dan menjual tetapi juga lebih daripada itu seperti kegiatan kolaborasi dan intrabusiness. Menurut id.wikipedia.org, dikatakan bahwa perdagangan elektronik atau e-commerce adalah penyebaran, pembelian, penjualan, pemasaran barang dan jasa melalui sistem elektronik seperti internet atau televisi, www, atau jaringan komputer lainnya. E-Commerce dapat melibatkan transfer dana elektronik, pertukaran data elektronik, sistem manajemen inventori otomatis, dan sistem pengumpulan data otomatis.
Industri teknologi informasi melihat kegiatan e-commerce ini sebagai aplikasi dan penerapan dari e-business yang berkaitan dengan transaksi komersial, seperti: transfer dana secara elektronik, SCM (supply chain management), e-marketing, atau online marketing, online transaction processing, electronic data interchange /EDI, dll. E-Commerce merupakan bagian dari e-business, di mana cakupan e-business lebih luas, tidak hanya sekedar perniagaan tetapi mencakup juga pengkolaborasian mitra bisnis, pelayanan nasabah, lowongan pekerjaan dll. Selain teknologi jaringan www, e-commerce juga memerlukan teknologi basisdata atau pangkalan data (databases), e-mail, dan bentuk teknologi non komputer yang lain seperti halnya sistem pengiriman barang, dan alat pembayaran untuk e-commerce ini.
E-Commerce pertama kali diperkenalkan pada tahun 1994 pada saat pertama kali banner-elektronik dipakai untuk tujuan promosi dan periklanan di suatu halaman-web (website). Menurut Riset Forrester, perdagangan elektronik menghasilkan penjualan seharga AS$12,2 milyar pada 2003. Menurut laporan yang lain pada bulan oktober 2006 yang lalu, pendapatan ritel online yang bersifat non-travel di Amerika Serikat diramalkan akan mencapai seperempat trilyun dolar US pada tahun 2011. E-Commerce terbagi dalam beberapa tipe, yaitu :
1. B2B (Business-to-Business). Didalam B2B atau business to business, penjual dengan pembeli merupakan suatu organisasi bisnis. Bentuk yang paling luas yang terjadi didalam E-Commerce adalah tipe ini. Deris Stiawan mengatakan di dalam www.ilkom.unsri.ac.id mengatakan bahwa tipe Business-to-Business memiliki beberapa karakteristik, yaitu :
- Trading partners yang sudah diketahui dan umumnya memiliki hubungan (relationship) yang cukup lama. Informasi hanya dipertukarkan dengan partner tersebut. Dikarenakan sudah mengenal lawan komunikasi, maka jenis informasi yang dikirimkan dapat disusun sesuai dengan kebutuhan dan kepercayaan (trust).
- Pertukaran data (data exchange) berlangsung berulang-ulang dan secara berkala, misalnya setiap hari, dengan format data yang sudah disepakati bersama. Dengan kata lain, servis yang digunakan sudah tertentu. Hal ini memudahkan pertukaran data untuk dua entiti yang menggunakan standar yang sama.
- Salah satu pelaku dapat melakukan inisiatif untuk mengirimkan data, tidak harus menunggu parternya.
- Model yang umum digunakan adalah peer-to-peer, dimana processing intelligence dapat didistribusikan di kedua pelaku bisnis.
2. Collaborative Commerce (C-Commerce). Didalam E-Commerce kolaborasi antara partner bisnis (diluar dari kegiatan membeli dan menjual) dilakukan secara elektronik. kolaborasi secara sering muncul antara dan diantara partner bisnis selama supply chain berlangsung.
3. B2C (Business-to-Cunsumer). Didalam ini para penjual merupakan suatu organisasi dan pembeli adalah perorangan. B2C juga dikenal dengan E-Tailing. Berdasarkan www.ilkom.unsri.ac.id dikatakan bahwa tipe Business-to-Consumer juga memiliki beberapa karakteristik, yaitu :
- Terbuka untuk umum, dimana informasi disebarkan ke umum.
- Servis yang diberikan bersifat umum (generic) dengan mekanisme yang dapat digunakan oleh khalayak ramai. Sebagai contoh, karena sistem Web sudah umum digunakan maka servis diberikan dengan menggunakan basis Web.
- Servis diberikan berdasarkan permohonan (on demand). Konsumer melakuka inisiatif dan produser harus siap memberikan respon sesuai dengan permohonan.
- Pendekatan client/server sering digunakan dimana diambil asumsi client (consumer) menggunakan sistem yang minimal (berbasis Web) dan processing (business procedure) diletakkan di sisi server.
4. C2C (Consumer-to-Consumer). Didalam ini perorangan menjual suatu product atau jasa kepada perorangan lainnya.
5. B2B2C (Business-to-Business-to-Consumer). Didalam ini para pebisnis menjual pada para pebisnis lainnya tetapi mengirimkan produk atau jasanya kepada konsumen perorangan.
6. C2B (Consumer-to-Business). Didalam ini konsumen membuat suatu kebutuhan yang dibutuhkan untuk produk, atau jasa dan supplier memenuhinya kebutuhan tersebut untuk konsumen.
7. Intrabusiness (intraorganizational) Commerce. Didalam kasus ini, suatu organisasi menggunakan Electronic Commerce untuk meningkatkan operasi kerjanya. Atau juga terkadang dikenal dengan B2E (Business-to-Employees) E-Commerce, dimana suatu organisasi mengirim produk dan jasa kepada pegawainya.
8. G2C (Government-to-Citizens). Didalam kasus ini dimana pihak pemerintahan memberikan jasa kepada penduduknya melalui teknologi E-Commerce. Para pemerintahan bisa melakukan bisnis dengan pemerintahan lainnya (G2G) atau juga para pebisnis (G2B).
Berikut adalah beberapa bentuk dari model bisnis E-Commerce, yaitu :
- Online direct marketing à banyak digunakan oleh para retail ataupun perusahaan manufaktur untuk menjual barang atau jasa ke pada konsumen. Cara ini adalah cara yang efektif untuk melakukan penjualan tersebut, karena mereka dapat melakukan perubahan-perubahan.
- Electronic tendering System à bisnis dijalankan dengan tipe B2B, dimana kegiatannya seperti meminta barang dari suplier, Bisnis penawaran bisnis secara online, dan lain-lain.
- Outline Auctions à kegiatan pelelangan yang dilakukan oleh suatu perusahaan atau perorangan dengan berbagai jenis atau tipe dari pelelangan ataupun melikuidasi sesuatu.. Dikarenakan hal ini dapat dilakukan dengan cepat dan tidak memakan biaya yang mahal.
- Name-your-own-price à konsumen bebas menentukan sendiri brapa jumlah yang ingin dia bayar dan bisa menyesuaikan harga dengan para penyedia/provider.
- Find-the-best-price à konsumen dapat menentukan sendiri apa yang dibutuhkan dan berusaha untuk membandingkan beberapa penyedia untuk mecari harga yang rendah yang pas dan sesuai dengan keinginan konsumen. Tetapi konsumen harus cepat-cepat untuk mengambil keputusan, kalau tidak konsumen dapat kehilangan penawaran yang terbaik yang ada.
- Affiliate Marketing à dimana ada suatu vendor yang meminta kepada partner lain untuk meletakkan bannernya atau logonya di site partner tersebut sehingga ketika ada orang yang mengklik banner atau logo tersebut, dapat langsung link ke site vendor tersebut dan melakukan pembelian. Tetapi vendors tersebut harus membayar uang komisi kepada partner tersebut atas peletakan logo atau banner tersebut.
- Viral Marketing à ketika kita menerima email dari seseorang dan mengirimkan kembali email tersebut yang berisi informasi barang atau produk yang kita ingin jual kepada teman-teman mereka. Atau disebut juga dengan nama Word-of-mouth.
- Group Purchasing (e-co-ops) à pembeli kecil yang membuat keputusan untuk menyetujui permintaan agar mendapatkan volume yang besar, kemudian pembeli tersebut melakukan negosiasi untuk mendapatkan harga yang lebih rendah.
- Product Customization à konsumen memilih-milih sendiri barang dan jasa yang ingin dia beli dan penjual memberikan harga sesuai dengan pemilihan barang yang telah di lakukan sebelumnya dan memenuhinya secara cepat. Atau diseut juga dengan Build-to-order.
- Electronic Marketplaces and Exchange à transaksi dijalankan secara efisiensi di pasar virtual.
- Value-chain service providers à jasa provider menawarkan pelayanan special di proses supply chain seperti logistic penyedia atau jasa payment.
- Information brokers and macthing services à broker memberikan pelayanan yang berhubungan dengan E-Commerce seperti kepercayaan, isi, kesamaan pembeli dan penjual, evaluasi vendors dan produk.
- Bartering Online à sebagai saluran perantara untuk pertukaran saham atas produk yang surplus dan ataupemebrian point khusus untuk perusahaan yang memiliki kontribusi yang nantinya point tersebut dapat di pakai untuk membeli jenis barang apa saja yang dibutuhkan.
- Deep discounters à suatu perusahaan yang memberikan harga discount yang tinggi sehingga menjadi pertimbangan untuk para konsumen yang menyadari bahwa di perusahaan mereka itu sajalah yan memiliki harga discount yang sangat rendah.
- Membership à Membership yang diberikan agar siapa yang telah menjadi member akan dapat mengakses full content, termasuk kedalamnya untuk mengakses informasi yang di butuhkan, bahkan juga untuk melakukan trading.
- Supply-chain improvers à pengaturan kembali supply chain suatu perusahaan yang menjadi pusat jalannya suatu perusahaan atau pengaturan lainnya yang meningkatkan kerjasama, mengurangi keterlambatan, dan membuat jalannya supply chain menjadi lebih licin.
- E-Classifieds à perkenalan suatu produk yang akan di jual pada harga tetap. Situs yang sangat popular adalah craiglist.com dan classfieds2000.com.
E-Commerce lebih disediakan untuk menguragi biaya-biaya operasional yang selama ini dikeluarkan untuk trading. Kegiatan E-Commerce merubah semua kegiatan marketing. Dengan kata lain, kegiatan marketing lebih ditujukan ke dalam E-Commerce dan bukan hanya marketing, tetapi semua transaksi pembelian dan penjualan, dan lain-lainnya. Sehingga E-Commerce membuat human contact menjadi berkurang atau bisa dikatakan dihapuskan. Mengapa? Karena semuanya sudah ditangani secara online. Seperti yang kita ketahui sebelumnya, bahwa E-Commerce merupakan tempat transaksi penjualan secara online. Untuk pembayaran bagi barang yang akan kita beli, dilakukan secara transfer, atau pembayaran secara online. E-Commerce merupakan subperangkat dari E-Business. Mengapa? Karena didalam E-business, terjadi perputaran bisnis yaitu trading.
Menurut searchcio.techtarget.com, E-Business atau Electronic Business bukan hanya sekedar pada pembelian dan penjualan tetapi juga pada pelayanan kepada para pelanggan atau konsumen dan adanya kolaborasi antara partner bisnis. Ruang lingkup daripada E-Business adalah ketika perusahaan dan individu melakukan komunikasi dengan client atau nasabah melalui email, tetapi seluruh kegiatan pemasaran dan penjualannya dilakukan melalui internet, sehingga memberikan keamanan fleksibilitas dan efisiensi yang dimana pembayarannya dengan mengunakan E-Gold yang dimana jenis pembayaran ini sudah diakui secara international dalam melakukan transaksi online. Sedangkan di dalam www.dudung.net/teknologi-informasi/10-pertanyan-tentang-e-commerce.html dikatakan bahwa kebanyakan orang mengangap bahwa E-Commerce hanyalah sebagai web shopping atau online Shopping. Padahal itu hanyalah sebahagian kecil dari pengertian luas dari E-Commerce, atau sekitar 20% dari keseluruhan kegiatan E-Commerce. Sebab E-Commerce sendiri pada dasarnya merupakan alat yang mempermudah untuk melakukan proses hubungan bisnis ke bisnis antar perusahaan yang satu dengan yang lainnya.
Menurut www.simbanet.com mengatakan bahwa transaksi-transaksi yang paling sering atau yang paling hot dilakukan di E-Commerce adalah pembelian produk komputer, produk konsumer, buku dan majalah, musik dan produk entertainment (audio, video, TV). Konsumen juga berharap mereka juga dapat melakukan transaksi mikro seperti misalnya mengakses content atau game di internet, yang memungkin orang-orang membayarnya tidak dalam partai besar atau dalam jumlah uang yang banyak tetapi juga bisa dalam partai kecil atau bisa dikatakan dengan uang-uang recehan saja. Menurut International Data Corporation atau di dalam websitenya www.idc.com dikatakan bahwa ditahun 2001, di Amerika orang-orang menggunakan E-Commerce dalam membeli barang-barang yang nilainya di atas US$ 16 juta itu ada 46 juta orang, dan US$54 juta di tahun 2002 untuk 46 juta orang juga. Menurut Forrester Research dalam www.forrester.com mengatakan bahwa sales E-Commerce atau penjualan E-Commerce di tahun 2000 ada sekitar US$7 juta. Dan menurut Morgan Stanley Dean Witter dalam www.deanwitter.com mengatakan bahwa penjualan E-Commercer di tahun 2005 itu terletak diantara US$ 21 juta sampai US$115 juta.
Lalu bagaimana dengan Indonesia? Secara garis besarnya Indonesia saat ini masih tidak terlalu banyak menggunakan fasilitas E-Commerce dalam melakukan besar. Kalaupun ada, tidak mencapai jumlah seperti orang Amerika. Jikalau semakin banyaknya warnet-warnet yang ada menyebar di seluruh Indonesia, tidak menutup kemungkinan bahwa angka tersebut dapat menyamai banyaknya orang Amerika dalam memanfaatkan E-Commerce sebagai suatu kegiatan bisnisnya. Kebanyakan Orang Indonesia memakai kegiatan E-Commerce seputar pada situs-situs berita, seperti kompas.com, detik.com, dll.
Lalu berbicara mengenai status keamanannya, menurut http://www.dudung.net/teknologi-informasi/10-pertanyan-tentang-e-commerce.html pada dasarnya E-Commerce merupakan suatu kegiatan yang aman. Aman dalam artian bahwa pengguna E-Commerce tidak akan mengalami kebocoran informasi status kartus kreditnya, tidak adanya kemungkinan anda akan di copet atau di todong, bagi pemilik E-Commercenya sendiri, toko mereka terhindar dari status di jarah, di rampok, di bakar, dll. Tetapi kenyataan yang ada malih lebih parah dari yang di kira. Bahwa ketika seseorang menggunakan E-Commerce otomatis kegiatan mereka dalam melakukan pembayaran adalah dengan menggunakan kartu kredit tapi terkadang merchant itu sendiri dimana orangnya adalah pegawai sales itu sendiri memanfaatkan kesempatan seperti ini untuk memakai kartu kredit pelanggan tersebut. Sistem E-Commerce pada dasarnya adalah merupakan alat untuk menghindari dari kegiatan mencuri tersebut dengan cara mengenkrip nomor kartu kredit tersebut di server perusahaan. Namun ternyata kesempatan ini di manfaatkan oleh para pegawai sales tadi. Setiap kita melakukan transaksi melalui E-Commerce dan memakai kartu kredit kita untuk melakukan pembayaran, secara tidak langsung kita membuka informasi kartu kredit kita untuk mereka curi. Sehingga tanggapan orang-orang untuk melakukan E-Commerce pun menjadi jauh dari yang diharapkan. Karena mereka lebih aman dengan langsung datang ke tempatnya dan melakukan pembelian di sana.
Tetapi untuk saat ini dari softwarenya sendiri ketika kita ingin melakukan kegiatan E-Commerce sendiri seperti contohnya, Netscape Navigator, Microsoft Internet Explorer, dll telah menyisipkan suatu alat yang bernama SSL (Secure Socket Layer). Sebuah alat yang dapat mengenkrip semua data kita ketika kita melakukan kegiatan E-Commerce. SSL ini menggunakan Public Key Encryption yang merupakan salah satu metode enkrip yang kuat saat ini. SLL merupakan protokol yang mengamankan saluran komunikasi ke sever, dan memproteksi data pada saat dikirimkan. Untuk dari pihak perusahaan kartu kreditnya itu sendiri mereka menggunakan sistem SET (Secure Electronic Transaction). SET akan mengenkrip nomor kartu kredit yang ada di server vendor, yang di mana kode enkrip tersebut hanyalah pihak bank atau perusahaan kartu kredit saja yang tahu. Sehingga pihak vendor sama sekali tidak dapat tahu nomor kartu kredit tersebut. Namun pada dasarnya E-Commerce tidak bisa menjamin keamanan kita 100% untuk kartu kredit kita, tetapi menjamin kita dari pencopetan dan penjambretan. Menurut survei yang dilakukan oleh Commercenet di dalam www.commerce.net mengatakan bahwa ada beberapa halangan yang membuat E-Commerce tidak berjalan seperti yan diinginkan, yaitu :
- Para pembeli dan penjual belum mempercayai E-Commerce.
- Mereka belum menemukan apa-apa yang mereka cari dari E-Commerce.
- Para pembeli dan penjual belum menemukan cara yang praktis dan aman dalam melakukan pembayaran.
- Kegiatan surfing di E-Commerce belum lancar betul.
- Rahasia informasi personal mereka masih menjadi terbuka.
- Kinerja jaringan yang masih belum baik betul.
- Para pembeli belum begitu yakin apakah akan menguntungkan bagi mereka kegiatan E-Commerce ketika mereka harus menyambung ke internet, menunggu proses download gambarnya jika ada, mencari-cari online shopping yang ada, dan ditambah dengan ketakutan mereka saat menggunakan kartu kredit karena takut di hacker.
Dibalik dari halangan-halangan yang membuat E-Commerce tidak berjalan dengan semestinya, ternyata E-Commerce juga memiliki beberapa keuntungan, yaitu :
- Meningkatkan pendapatan dengan menggunakan pendekatan online yang biayanya lebih murah.
- Mengurangi biaya-biaya administrasi dan lain-lain seperti biaya yang berhubungan dengan kertas seperti kertas, biaya pos surat, percetakan, report, dan sebagainya.
- Mengurangi keterlambatan dengan menggunakan transfer elektronik/pembayaran yang tepat waktu dan dapat langsung di cek.
- Mempercepat pelayanan ke pelanggan dan pelayanan lebih responsif.
Bentuk dari E-Commerce itu sendiri adalah seperti, Penjualan buku online, penjualan elektronik online, penjualan automotive online, penjualan pakaian online, dan bentuk-bentuk lain penjualan onlne. Dampak positif yang akan kita dapatkan ketika kita menggunakan bentuk penjualan secara online adalah :
- Revenue Stream (aliran pendapatan) baru yang mungkin lebih menjanjikan yang tidak bisa ditemui di sistem transaksi tradisional. Sebab di model transaksi online kita masih harus mengeluarkan biaya yang banyak termasuk didalamnya biaya untuk membuat laporan-laporan yang dibutuhkan, mencetak iklan dan bentuk dari faktur dan segalanya, dan sebagainya.
- Dapat meningkatkan market exposure (pangsa pasar).
- Menurunkan biaya operasional(operating cost). Dikarenakan biaya yang dikeluarkan untuk yang berhubungan dengan kertas, biaya pos surat, biaya untuk melakukan percetakan, membuat laporan-laporan, dan lain-lain tidak dibutuhkan lain. Karena segala sesuatu sudah di selesaikan secara komputerisasi dan secara online.
- Melebarkan jangkauan (global reach). Dengan penjualan online semua orang dari seluruh kalangan negri dapat menemukan dan melakukan transaksi sesuai dengan kebutuhannya masing-masing. Sehingga secara tidak langsung, market kita sudah go international.
- Meningkatkan customer loyality. Ketika pelanggan mendapatkan yang diinginkan secara cepat, jelas dan mudah, maka pelanggan secara otomatis akan menjadi lebih loyal. Dikarenakan kepuasan yang didapatnya lebih dari yang dikira.
- Meningkatkan supplier management.
- Memperpendek waktu produksi.
- Meningkatkan value chain (mata rantai pendapatan).
Namun di balik dari dampak positifnya, juga pastinya di dapat dampak negatif dari kita menggunakan E-Commerce, yaitu :
- Kehilangan segi finansial secara langsung karena kecurangan. Seorang penipu mentransfer uang dari rekening satu ke rekening lainnya atau dia telah mengganti semua data finansial yang ada.
- Pencurian informasi rahasia yang berharga. Gangguan yang timbul bisa menyingkap semua informasi rahasia tersebut kepada pihak-pihak yang tidak berhak dan dapat mengakibatkan kerugian yang besar bagi si korban.
- Kehilangan kesempatan bisnis karena gangguan pelayanan. Kesalahan ini bersifat kesalahan non-teknis seperti aliran listrik tiba-tiba padam.
- Penggunaan akses ke sumber oleh pihak yang tidak berhak. Misalkan seorang hacker yang berhasil membobol sebuah sistem perbankan. Setelah itu dia memindahkan sejumlah rekening orang lain ke rekeningnya sendiri.
- Kehilangan kepercayaan dari para konsumen. Ini karena berbagai macam faktor seperti usaha yang dilakukan dengan sengaja oleh pihak lain yang berusaha menjatuhkan reputasi perusahaan tersebut.
- Kerugian yang tidak terduga. Disebabkan oleh gangguan yang dilakukan dengan sengaja, ketidakjujuran, praktek bisnis yang tidak benar, kesalahan faktor manusia, kesalahan faktor manusia atau kesalahan sistem elektronik.
Namun menurut Deris Stiawan didalam www.ilkom.unsri.ac.id didalam jurnalnya mengatakan bahwa memang kita dapat melakukan bisnis secara online dengan cara cepat melalui internet, bisa dalam hitungan waktu, namun untuk hal pengirimannya sangat dibutuhkan waktu dan koordinasi yang lebih rumit. Bahkan bisa memakan waktu sampai mingguan.
Menurut Softbanks Rieschel, internet hanya menyelesaikan 10 persen dari proses transaksi tetapi 90% lainnya adalah biaya untuk persiapan infrastruktur back end termasuk logistic. Didalam majalah Teknologi yang dikeluarkan pada tahun 2001, seperti yang dikatakan Deris Stiawan dalam www.ilkom.unsri.ac.id, mengatakan bahwa di dalam membangun E-Commerce diperlukan 3 faktor yang perlu di cermati, yaitu variability, visibility, dan velocity.
